    About this treatment

    What this actually does.

Aircraft are unforgiving. The wrong product, the wrong technique, or the wrong cloth, and you've damaged paint that's tied to airworthiness or rivet lines that affect aerodynamics. Detail Doctor brings hospital-grade precision to aviation: we use only aviation-approved cleaners (Aero Cosmetics, Granitize, Plexus, and equivalents), microfiber-only application, hand-polishing on leading edges and rivet lines, and an absolute respect for static wicks, pitot tubes, antennas, and acrylic windshields. We detail everything from a Cessna 172 to a Citation X — including warbirds, experimentals, light sport, and rotorcraft. We come to your tie-down, T-hangar, FBO ramp, or owner-controlled hangar at Stinson (SSF), San Antonio International (SAT), Boerne Stage (5C1), New Braunfels Regional (BAZ), Hondo (HDO), Kerrville (ERV), Fredericksburg (T82), and many of the smaller strips across the Hill Country. Fully mobile with our own water and power, so we don't need an FBO bay or fuel-truck setup.

Every job runs the same way: diagnose, treat, protect, inspect. One technician. One car. Your approval at every stage.

    The process

    9-stage protocol.

    01

    Walk-Around & Pilot Brief.

Confirm scope, identify sensitive items (taped sensors, repaired panels, fresh paint), and verify ramp or hangar access

    02

    Sensitive Area Masking.

Tape and cover pitot tubes, static ports, AOA sensors, antennas, and anything the owner has flagged

    03

    Leading Edge & Belly Pre-Treatment.

Apply aviation-grade bug and oil remover to leading edges, prop spinner, belly, and exhaust streaks

    04

    Dry Wash or Wet Wash.

Wet wash with aviation-approved soap when the ramp allows; dry wash with Aero Cosmetics Wash Wax All on hangar floors or no-runoff ramps

    05

Hand Polish — Paint & Brightwork.

Hand-polish painted surfaces and bare aluminum brightwork (cowling, leading edges where applicable) — never rotary on rivet lines

    06

    Registration & N-Number Detail.

Clean and protect N-numbers, registration markings, and exterior placards without lifting paint or vinyl

    07

    Acrylic Windshield & Glass.

Clean acrylic windshields with Plexus or PlastX and a clean microfiber — never with standard glass cleaners that craze plexi

    08

    Interior Detail.

Vacuum carpets, condition leather, clean side panels and headliner, wipe avionics screens with screen-safe microfiber, refresh upholstery, and sanitize touch points

    09

    Final Walk & Sign-Off.

Remove all masking, do a final walk with the owner, and confirm every sensor and sensitive item was restored to its pre-detail state

    Why it matters

What you get out of it.

Aviation-approved products only — no risk to paint, plexi, or rivets

Preserves resale value, especially on jets and turboprops

Removes oxidation, exhaust stains, and bug strike damage

Restores faded N-numbers and registration markings

Brightwork polish makes leading edges and cowlings show-quality

Fully mobile — we come to your tie-down, T-hangar, or FBO ramp

Hangar-friendly dry wash with zero runoff

All Hill Country and South Texas airports — Stinson (SSF), San Antonio International (SAT), Boerne Stage (5C1), New Braunfels Regional (BAZ), Hondo (HDO), Kerrville-Kerr County (ERV), Gillespie County / Fredericksburg (T82), Bulverde (1T8), Castroville (CVB), and many smaller private strips. We coordinate hangar or ramp access with you ahead of the appointment.

Only — Aero Cosmetics, Granitize, Plexus, PlastX, and equivalent. We don't bring standard car detailing chemicals near an aircraft. All cleaners are pH-balanced and approved for aluminum, polyurethane paint, acrylic windshields, and Lexan.

Yes. Dry-wash is our default inside hangars where water isn't allowed or on ramps with no runoff drains. Aero Cosmetics Wash Wax All and equivalents clean and protect in a single step, with zero water.

Only with screen-safe microfiber and approved cleaner — distilled water, Plexus, or manufacturer-approved screen cleaner. We follow OEM cleaning guidance for Garmin (G500, G1000, GTN, G3X), Avidyne, Collins, and Honeywell suites. If you have a specific product you prefer, bring it and we'll use yours.

Yes. We hand-polish polished aluminum cowlings, leading edges where applicable, exhaust stacks, and other brightwork using metal-specific polishes. We never use a rotary buffer near rivet lines or repair panels.

A Cessna 172 takes 3-4 hours for a thorough wet wash, polish, and interior. A Bonanza or Baron takes 4-6. A King Air runs 6-10. A midsize jet is typically 8-12 hours and may run across two days depending on hangar access.

Yes. Many owners alternate — exterior one visit, interior the next. We also offer between-trip 'refresh' details for jets and turboprops that fly frequently and just need bugs and belly streaks pulled off.

Yes — we carry an aviation liability rider specifically for ground operations on aircraft we detail. Happy to provide a Certificate of Insurance before the appointment if your hangar or FBO requires one.
